Purpose.
Our privacy policy describes how we handle personal information. When we collect this information, we comply with the rules set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Personal Information means any information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable whether the information or opinion is true or not, and whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not.
This policy is designed to comply with the specific requirements of the Privacy Act. This Privacy Policy applies to A Lasting Tale directors, employees and independent contractors. When we refer to “We”, “Us” “Our” in this policy it means all these people.
We sometimes update our privacy policy. When we do, we’ll put an up-to-date version on our website and app homepage.

As a User of the App we may collect personal information and sensitive information including:

relationship to interviewee/s
bank account and credit card details
your browser session
information about your access and use of Our App.
If you are an interviewee, we may collect your personal information including:
your name, date of birth and contact details
relationship to interviewee/s.
In the course of being interviewed, the type of personal information recorded will be up to you, but might include
information about your personal circumstances such as marital status, age and gender, educational background and languages you speak.
your racial or ethnic background
your sexual or gender orientation
information about your employment
your preferences and/or opinions.
Collection of personal information.
Depending on how you choose to interact with Us, we may collect your personal and sensitive information:
using the App
by telephone or email
using App based, web based, paper or electronic forms
during the course of recording an interview.
Third parties.
We will generally collect your personal information directly from you. For Interviewees, we will collect some personal information from the User who wishes to interview you.
If you are a third party providing personal information about somebody else, you promise that you have such person’s consent to provide the personal information to us.
We may disclose your personal information to our employees, independent contractors and/or related entities in order to provide our Services.
Quality of personal information.
The Privacy Act requires us to take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we hold is safe and secure. We are also required to take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect is accurate, up-to-date, and complete. This may include correcting your personal information where it is appropriate to do so.
Data security.
We take reasonable steps to make sure your personal information is secure and safe from misuse or unauthorised access. Your data will be stored on our password protected systems.
We will take all reasonable steps to protect Personal Information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Use of personal information.
We collect and use personal information for these purposes:
to communicate with you and respond to you regarding the app, content and features
to customize the content you receive or view when using the app to otherwise improve your experience of the app
to develop new app functions
to help improve our Services including for internal training
for legal reasons
for any other purpose with your consent.
Accessing and correcting your personal information.
You can ask for a copy of your personal information that we hold. You also have a right under the Privacy Act to request corrections to any personal information that we hold about you if you think the information is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. If we don’t think the information needs correcting, we’ll tell you.
Complaints and enquiries.
We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information that we hold is accurate and up to date.
